01Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Fake Receipt Maker ("Company", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of fake-receipt-maker.com and any associated services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or clicking "I agree", you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU), have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

02The Service

Fake Receipt Maker is an online tool that allows users to create, customize, and download receipt-style documents using browser-based templates. The Service includes:

• A free receipt generator for creating receipt-style documents.
• 100+ pre-built receipt templates for retail, restaurant, grocery, and other categories.
• A paid subscription tier that removes watermarks and enables HD downloads.
• Account features: saving, editing, and managing receipt templates.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

03Acceptable Use

The Service is provided for legitimate, lawful purposes only. Examples of permitted uses include:

• Business & finance: creating sample receipts for bookkeeping practice, training staff on POS systems, or populating demo databases.
• Creative & entertainment: prop receipts for film, theatre, photography, or video productions where no deception is intended or possible.
• Education: teaching accounting, retail operations, or document design.
• Design & development: UI mockups, prototype testing, or template design where the output will never be used as a real transaction record.
• Personal records: recreating a genuine receipt you have already lost, for your own records only, where the original transaction occurred.

When in doubt, ask yourself: Could a reasonable person be deceived by this document into believing it represents a real transaction they did not make? If yes, the use is not permitted.

04Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Service to:

• Commit fraud - creating documents intended to deceive insurers, employers, tax authorities, banks, landlords, immigration authorities, or any other person or institution into believing a transaction took place that did not.
• Expense fraud - submitting fabricated receipts for reimbursement from an employer, client, or government body.
• Insurance fraud - creating receipts to support false insurance claims.
• Tax fraud - generating fake receipts to inflate deductions, inflate costs, or reduce taxable income.
• Visa or immigration fraud - producing receipts as false evidence of financial standing or transactions for visa, residency, or citizenship applications.
• Deceiving individuals - creating receipts intended to mislead, manipulate, or extort a private individual.
• Money laundering - creating false transaction records as part of any scheme to disguise the origin of funds.
• Violate any applicable law - any use that constitutes a criminal offence or civil wrong under the laws of your jurisdiction or ours.
• Bypass security measures - attempting to remove watermarks from free downloads, reverse-engineer the Service, or access restricted features without payment.
• Abuse the platform - automated scraping, creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits, or any other abusive behaviour.

05Accounts

You may use the receipt generator without an account. An account is required to save templates and access paid features.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
• You must notify us immediately at hello@fake-receipt-maker.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• You may not share your account or transfer it to another person.
• We reserve the right to disable accounts that violate these Terms or show signs of fraudulent activity.

06Subscriptions & Billing

Paid subscriptions are offered on the following terms:

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time from your Account page or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period - you retain access until then.
• Prices are in USD and exclude any applicable taxes. We will display the final price including tax (where applicable) before you confirm payment.
• We reserve the right to change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. If you do not cancel before the new price takes effect, you accept the new price.
• Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

07Refunds

We offer the following refund policy:

• 48-hour refund window (Monthly & Yearly plans only): you may request a full refund within 48 hours of purchase for Monthly and Yearly subscription plans, no questions asked. Weekly plans are not eligible for refunds due to their short billing cycle.
• Subsequent charges: recurring charges after the first are generally non-refundable. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 14 days and we will review it.
• Annual plan: if you cancel an annual subscription within 30 days of purchase and have not made significant use of the Service, we will issue a pro-rated refund at our discretion.
• Refunds are not available if your account has been terminated for violating these Terms.

To request a refund, email hello@fake-receipt-maker.com with your account email and the charge you would like refunded.

08Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, templates, copy, and all other original content, is owned by Fake Receipt Maker and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for the purposes described in these Terms. This licence does not permit you to:

• Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service or its source code.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code.
• Use the Service's name, logo, or branding without our prior written consent.
• Republish or resell outputs from the Service as your own product or service.

You own the receipts you create. Generating a receipt document does not grant us any rights over its content.

09User Content

"User Content" means any data or content you input into or save via the Service, including store names, line items, and other receipt fields.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By saving content to our servers, you grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You represent and warrant that your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, violate any applicable law, or contain any malicious code.

We do not review User Content proactively. If we become aware of User Content that violates these Terms, we reserve the right to remove it and terminate the associated account.

10Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
• Any receipt generated will be accepted by any third party for any purpose.
• The Service will meet your specific requirements.

Receipt templates are provided for informational and creative purposes only. We make no representation that any template accurately reflects the current format used by any real-world retailer, brand, or institution. Store names, logos, and branding mentioned in templates are the property of their respective owners and are used for reference only.

11Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FAKE RECEIPT MAKER AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES - INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL - ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50 USD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Fake Receipt Maker and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your use of or access to the Service.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
• Any fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful use of outputs from the Service.

13Termination

By you: You may terminate your account at any time from the Account page or by emailing hello@fake-receipt-maker.com. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other users or the Service. We will refund any prepaid subscription fees for the unused portion of a current billing period in cases of termination without cause. No refund will be given for termination due to a Terms violation.

Sections 4, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 14 of these Terms survive termination.

14Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

For any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, we ask that you first contact us to attempt an informal resolution. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in New Mexico.

Class action waiver: To the extent permitted by law, you agree to resolve any dispute with us on an individual basis only, and not as part of any class, collective, or representative proceeding.

15Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' advance notice via email (to account holders) or a prominent notice on the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription before the effective date.

We will maintain a version history of these Terms and make previous versions available upon request.
